On the 27th of June 2026, against the honeyed light of the French Riviera, Andréa Pascal Liebaert and Léa Camille Loïs Vaschetto were married in a celebration that unfolded in two acts: an intimate ceremony at Eze Village town hall, followed by a Dolce Vita-soaked reception at Da Mitchou, a beloved family restaurant tucked into the hills of Gorbio.
Captured by Aurélie Garotta aka @bittersweet_lily, the day carried a distinctly editorial softness — sun-bleached portraits, vintage cars, hand-painted signage, and tablescapes dressed in lemon yellow and Riviera blue. But beneath the styling was something simpler: a couple who wanted, above all, for the people they loved to feel close.
“We wanted people to have fun, feel happy, and enjoy this wonderful moment together with us.”
How It Began
The couple’s story stretches back to 2021. Andréa was working as a personal trainer for Léa’s father until, one day, Léa decided to join the training session herself. “Personally, I always knew,” she says of the moment she met him. “It took Andréa two years to realise I was the one.”
He came around to it in spectacular fashion. On the 12th of December, 2024, at sunrise at Abu Simbel in Egypt, Andréa got down on one knee but not before letting Léa’s daughter in on a private joke. Léa had spent months telling him, only half-seriously, that she wanted to be proposed to with a cardboard ring in front of Tutankhamun. So just before he asked, her daughter quietly handed her one.
A Ceremony Rooted in Home
The choice of venue was never in question. Andréa grew up in Eze and once worked for the village mayor, making the historic town hall an almost inevitable setting for the ceremony. For the celebration that followed, the couple turned to Da Mitchou in Gorbio — a restaurant run by family friends. “We wanted something intimate, surrounded only by people we know,” the couple explain.
That instinct toward warmth over spectacle shaped the whole day. The design language leaned into a Dolce Vita mood — white, blue, and sun-washed yellow — carried through in hand-lettered welcome signage, citrus-laden tablescapes, and favours wrapped in blue and yellow ribbon.
A Gift From Their Witnesses
Amid a day full of small, considered details, one moment stood apart. The couple’s witnesses had quietly put together a slideshow tracing both of their lives — from childhood to the proposal in Egypt — and presented it as a surprise during the reception. “That was the standout moment of the day,” the couple reflect, a reminder that some of the most memorable parts of a wedding are the ones written by the people around you, not the ones on the itinerary.
By evening, the celebration at Da Mitchou had settled into exactly what Andréa and Léa had hoped for: laughter, long tables, and people they loved, gathered together on a hillside above the Mediterranean.
