Platinum and Punk

H&M’s H&M&YOU&I show, directed by Nick Knight with SHOWstudio, had the most dramatic hair of the day. Backstage the models wore platinum lengths, teased and crimped volume, slicked headscarves and fitted skullcaps. The approach combined romance with a punkish edge, and it matched the collection’s mix of ivory lace, black leather and fringe.

Labrinth, who produced the show’s soundtrack and closed it with a surprise live performance, was photographed backstage before the show.
The Violet Glow

Harris Reed’s show was called Loud Whispers, and the beauty was its loudest part. Make-up was led by Sofia Tilbury, Global Artistry Director at Charlotte Tilbury Beauty, who created two iridescent blush looks, one pink and one purple, built up by layering several blushes. The colour was swept high across the cheekbones and catches the light in every backstage shot, which made it a match for Reed’s sculptural ivory corsetry, fringed shoulders and caged skirts. Hair was kept sleek and close to the head so nothing competed with the face.
Barely There

At Joyce Bao the approach was the opposite: fresh, bare-looking skin, natural brows, a soft lip and hair slicked straight back. The restraint let the collection do the talking, with vivid blue floral prints, sheer ivory layers and open backs, all photographed backstage against reflective metallic walls.
